Core Barre
Core Barre is a group exercise method that combines elements of ballet, Pilates mat, resistance training and active isolated stretching (AIS) to create low-impact, high-energy and fat-burning exercises. The method focuses on “smart movement,” or moving the body with precision, focus and strength. As students learn to balance the muscles in their bodies, they also learn to balance their minds.
Core Barre movements are designed to strengthen all of the body’s muscles. To accomplish this, classes incorporate the use of props, including weight balls, small, inflated stability balls and the ballet barre. The exercises are graceful, effortless and energy generating, producing a meaningful rhythm attuned to the body and its surroundings. Overall, the exercise method aims at creating a newfound awareness of the mind and body, as well as an appreciation for smart movement.[1]

Health Benefits
Core Barre produces a multitude of health benefits, including increased strength, joint flexibility, postural alignment, form and stability. The ballet barre allows students to perform small, isolated movements, which target the buttocks and thighs while improving balance and coordination. The succeeding core movements challenge the abdominal muscles, improving strength and stability.
Classes are designed to challenge each individually appropriately according to their personal level of strength and coordination.
