The National Association of Complementary and Alternative Medicines (NACAMS) founded in 2005 serves health, wellness, and beauty professionals by offering comprehensive liability insurance and practice support. NACAMS does not certify or register professionals or schools. Instead, we offer the industry preferred and affordable insurance options.

In 2019 NACAMS was acquired by Arthur J Gallagher, the 3rd largest brokerage in the world allowing us to grow and enhance our services.

Lockton Affinity, a subsidiary of Lockton, Inc., is an independent insurance brokerage firm that concentrates on specialized protection plans for associations, franchises, nonprofits, and other affinity groups. The company is headquartered in Kansas City, MO, and has 64 additional locations in 17 countries. Lockton, Inc. was founded by Jack Lockton in 1966. Prior to establishing the firm, Lockton received a degree in Economics from the University of Missouri and worked as an underwriter for a surety bonding company. His brother, David Lockton, joined the company in 1976, and has since occupied numerous roles including President and CEO. In 2003, David became the company’s Chairman. Lockton acquired Alexander Forbes International Risk Services in 1996, thereby evolving into an international operation. It is currently the ninth largest insurance brokerage in the world.

Coverage Limits

Professional and general liability insurance are included in the NACAMS membership. Sometimes companies will separate these types of liability insurance requiring the customer to choose one or the other or both for an additional cost. 

• Professional & General Liability Insurance: $2 million per occurrence; $3 million individual annual aggregate
• Personal Injury & Advertising Coverage: $2 million individual aggregate
• Identity Protection Coverage: $25,000

Policy limits were chosen based on what industry professionals need. 

Program’s limits of liability vary depending on the size and span of the practice. Professional liability limits, for example, may range anywhere from $250,000 per claim and $500,000 annual aggregate to $2 million per claim and $4 million annual aggregate. An extended reporting period option is available for purchase within 60 days of the insurance policy’s expiration date. This allows non-renewals to receive tail coverage in case any claims are reported after the end of their policy term.

Policy Type

We are occurrence form coverage meaning you are covered after your policy expires as long as the incident occurred while your policy was active. 

Lockton Affinity Insurance is also occurrence form coverage. This type of policy is a higher priced option naturally based on the comprehensive aspect.
