The National Association of Complementary and Alternative Medicines (NACAMS) founded in 2005 serves health, wellness, and beauty professionals by offering comprehensive liability insurance and practice support. NACAMS does not certify or register professionals or schools. Instead, we offer the industry preferred and affordable insurance options.

In 2019 NACAMS was acquired by Arthur J Gallagher, the 3rd largest brokerage in the world allowing us to grow and enhance our services.

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) is a subsidiary of their parent company, Tokio Marine North America, Inc., the U.S. holding for the Japanese based Tokio Marine Group.

The original company was founded in 1962 by James J. Maguire, Sr. and was originally known as the Maguire Insurance Agency. In its beginnings, the Maguire Insurance Agency specialized in automobile insurance products. It expanded from one to 15 offices shortly thereafter. After changing its name to PHLY in 1987, the company began offering liability insurance to social service agencies, as well as health and fitness organizations. In 2008, Founder Maguire began the process of merging PHLY with the Tokio Marine Group.

Coverage Limits

Professional and general liability insurance are included in the NACAMS membership. Sometimes companies will separate these types of liability insurance requiring the customer to choose one or the other or both for an additional cost. 

• Professional & General Liability Insurance: $2 million per occurrence; $3 million individual annual aggregate
• Personal Injury & Advertising Coverage: $2 million individual aggregate
• Identity Protection Coverage: $25,000

PHLY offers personal, commercial property/ casualty, and professional lines of insurance to various niche markets, including the health, fitness and wellness industry. 

Policy Type

We are occurrence form coverage meaning you are covered after your policy expires as long as the incident occurred while your policy was active. 

PHYL is also occurrence form coverage. This type of policy is a higher priced option naturally based on the comprehensive aspect.
